Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) from Elavon offers the convenience and certainty of paying in your own currency with the added benefit of an exchange rate guarantee. Elavon’s DCC service enables you (international Visa and MasterCard cardholders) to pay for goods and services in your home currency at the point of sale, allowing you to see the true cost of the transaction at the time of purchase rather than when your card statement arrives.

  • Elavon aims to provide competitive exchange rates comparable with rates offered by card issuers. DCC provides full disclosure of the cost of the transaction in the local currency, in your home currency and the exchange rate. This information allows you to assess the competitiveness of the rate at the point-of-sale. 

    If you pay in your currency with DCC at the point-of-sale and when you get your card statement, you find that you would have received a better exchange rate (including fees) on the same card, on the same date, from your card issuer – you can claim the difference from Elavon. Elavon will pay you directly onto your card the difference between the amount you were charged at the Elavon customer and the amount you would have been charged by your card issuer.   • Download the claim form, print out and complete the information within 60 days of the original purchase date.
